Tomtom route planner

The message on the support page has changed, the message stating, starting at 3 CEST and taking a few hours no longer has those words. I hope plan B works. The places I put on my phone yesterday with syc turned off are still there, but the ones in Mydrive have disappeared again. I need to use the satnav today and have put multiple places on the non synced phone fingers crossed they stay. What three words are changing things and are moving to a paid subscription with added features, maybe after many years it is time to say goodbye to TT.
They could keep us updated by putting a brief message on the opening screen as they used to at Christmas, even if it just said something like recovery in progress or still working on a solution.

Must say I am not surprised it has still not sorted out
TomTom make an excellent product but the support and backup is appalling

This is the latest from the TomTom support site

Temporary loss of saved places and favourites

Some customers recently lost access to their saved places (My Places), favourites, and recent destinations in TomTom navigation apps and devices.
This was caused by a technical issue related to account login and data synchronisation. As a result, saved locations may have temporarily disappeared.

Data restoration

We are restoring data. Once restoration is complete:
  • Saved places and favourites created before 1 May should reappear automatically
  • No action is required

Data that may not be recoverable

Some data may not be recoverable:
  • Routes, favourites, or saved places created or changed between 1 May and 9 May 2026 may not be restored

Restoration timeline

Data restoration is currently in progress.
This page will be updated as soon as the process is complete.

This is the part that was published yesterday (Friday) and they have removed.................................................

Not looking promising, maybe back in 2022 when they laid off 10% of their tech team due to automation they should have considered disaster recovery options. It is possible the size of data to be restored and the performance of their platform is giving them time issues. i know from being in similar positions recovering systems from the floor

Lol
Yesterday, my points were visible in navigation (Synchronization with the MyDrive EU app on Android)
I fired up the Navi this morning and the points were visible.
When I connected the internet to Navi, the points disappeared...
All that's left is My Work.

However, I still have my points in the MyDriveEU app.

TomTom ceases to be a reliable provider of transport and routing services.

Hmm. So what im seeing here is if you connect you lose your saved data. Problem is you need to connect for traffic updates etc.

Change it so the data is stored locally rather than wherever it is saved now. This is a rediculous system for such a big device. No way this devices needs cloud storage or whatever it's called for points on a map...

No, storing on cloud makes sense.

If you have multiple devices or change device or your device breaks down ?
You just login on other devices and the data appears.

There are fleets of hundres of drivers that use TomTom and a single company account.
Basically, with 1 account you have the same data on over 100 GPS’s.

A safe cloud, like iCloud is useful, a shitty cloud is useless and creates just problems because you had the courage to have faith in it.

Your favorites and other items are saved on the GPS.
The cloud allows you to back up your favorites, but since the server went down, everything was deleted.
Because the GPS is still connected, it thought you were the one who deleted the favorites.
The best thing to do is disable MyDrive on the GPS.
Re-enable MyDrive if you want to add a new favorite; it only takes a second.

I have not seen my entries removed from the satnav, only from the apps not sure about other users. So the go 5100 and 6000 and 520 seem to hold their entries even with synch enabled?

Where did you see that? (the notice from TomTom, that is) I just had a poke around and couldn't find it.....

I was able to login just now, no change in the absence of places....]

If you can include a link to that page, that would be helpful....

Myself and 4 other drivers in my company have also lost all saved routes and locations.
Hoping they will be restored as I've over 5 years of saved parking places etc on there

Don’t know if any of you have had any joy with saved places restored, I’ve checked mine and everything I had up to last Sunday when the issue started have returned, they were on the planner first but not the device logged out and back in and they all were showing like some previously stated anything you’ve saved this week has not saved, fingers crossed it stays this way but I’ll see

All my places are still gone from the planner; my routes are there. All places and routes are gone from my TT Go Expert app.

Ironically, I just got this email. Insanity promoting their services in the middle of a major outage.

The image is incomplete, but this is the TomTom app, which is free; its features differ from those of the GO Expert app.

I am also seeing a difference b operation on the plan website between pc and iPhone, it works on pc ok but on iPhone it does not show favourites and you cannot logout. Luckily I still have the old mydrive app for iPhone which works fine.

I still have the old MyDrive app on Android with all my favorites and routes visible, but the GO Expert app is empty.

I also have MyDrive on iOS and it’s as empty as my TomTom Go Expert.

It’s a shame the mydrive app was retired as it is so good compared to plan. Good luck everyone hopefully we are all fully operational this week?
