Tomtom route planner

That's true.

When the Android app splash-screen appears on my phone, the app is called "TomTom Go Expert"; in the Android installed apps list its called "Tomtom Go"; and in the Google Play store it's listed as "TomTom Go Expert: Truck GPS".

Confusing isn't it :) .
That's odd, in my list of installed applications it's correctly listed as TomTom Go Expert.

Have you found your favorites on the planner?

Also, if you want to recover all your favorites from before the outage, you need to select MyDrive in the TomTom service.

It has already been stated that all favorites added after May 1st are lost.
plan.tomtom.com still shows no favourites. I've tried different browsers, logging out/in, clearing cookies, but nothing. I don't use a phone, and my Go Discover does not use MyDrive, so I don't know what you are referring to by
select MyDrive in the TomTom service
On my device there is a TomTom Account option, which states Destinations, place lists and favourites on this device are automatically synced with your TomTom account. The screen allows one to sign in and start syncing, or to stop syncing; both of which I've tried.

It would appear that they are still tinkering:

Scheduled login outage

To complete data restoration, login will be unavailable from 12 May, 00:00 CEST, for a few hours on the following services:

  • Plan.TomTom.com
  • TomTom Navigation apps
  • TomTom navigation devices

All my saved places returned yesterday evening, on the device and the app.
The recent trips was dated from March 31st but I'm happy with that

After working most of the day on Safari and Chrome, the planner now has the same issues. On Safari, my places are gone, my routes are there. On Chrome, nothing is there and I cannot log in.

This is absolutely incredible.

I an't log in either. I'm assuming that it is the:

Same here, login doesn't work. Hopefully it comes back in a few hours.

My production account is indeed working 100% properly again.

One thing I have just noticed, if you click the "burger" menu (top left) on the web plan screen, there are 2 items at the bottom left:
  • Clear Data
  • Download Data
If you click on the download (be patient) you will be given a JSON file containing all your places!

This can be converted into a format of your choice for backup purposes or for transfer to another device!

I didn't notice this before, and in a previous answer in this thread, someone said that you couldn't backup your data, so either I'm blind, or they just added it!!!

Yes, converting to OV2 format will allow you to send it to some GPS models, but this is not possible with the application or with the latest GPS models.

A bit long winded but I have made a copy of all my saved places in Google earth. The dropped pin has a description box where you can enter details. Very long winded at first but if TT lost my places forever I would be able to re enter them over a period of time. By grouping into folders and ticking/unticking boxes you can display them on a google earth map. A very long job but you could display all of them and untick the box as you return them to TT gradually. Below is a sample (not from my saved places)

This is bonkers. They’re back again. 🙄
So today I check my places and they are restored to 1st may again what are tomtom doing I thought this was fixed, are we stuck in 1st may, anyone else seen this ?

Data restored
Saved places and favorites that existed before May 1, 2026, have been restored.

Places, favorites, or routes created after May 1, 2026, could not be recovered and will need to be recreated manually.

To test, I added a new favorite. The favorite was successfully added to my list.

So, as far as I'm concerned, there are no problems.

On plan.tomtom.com, my routes have reappeared… But not on my TomTom Camper, nor on my TomTom Go app on my iPhone…
So I tried editing them (just to create identical copies on plan.tomtom), but nothing works: they won’t sync...
If I create a new route from scratch, it doesn’t sync either.
In short, it seems like TomTom sync is completely broken for my account...

If I create a new location on plan.tomtom, it doesn’t sync either...

That’s good, from my perspective I edited all my places and they were correct on the 12th/13th and then overnight they have reverted to the 1st of may. Not a big problem but I need to understand why this has happened as these devices are not cheap toys. I have taken it up with tomtom, who knows??
