start 25 not working.

Hi my tomtom start 25 will not recover itselfe. It start with recovery screen but then stops. It shows up on my computer as a network adaptor until it stops. Would a new battery make any difference. Tomtom want €85.00 to mend it but I can buy a new one for not much more. Has anyone any information that could help. Thank you.

Try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds

Hi I have done a drum reset and all that happens is that a page of data is shown on the screen and it stays on until the battery runs out.

Don't use a usb3 port on your computer. Make sure you are using the cable that came with the device.

White on black text? If so, you held the button down much too long and wound up in the diagnostic screen! Let up on the button as soon as you hear the drums / see the logo. At that point, you've done the reboot.
