start 20 SD slot

Iv just bought a new start 20 and noticed that has a sd card slot
i inserted 1 and it said it needed to format it and could take a few mins
well after a matter of seconds it said that it could not format the card, i formated it via the pc and tried again and still no better
i have read that the card slot is not active, can any one confirm that or tell me what im doing wrong as i know the card is not damaged or corrupt

The card does need to be formatted by TomTom to make it work

Is the card a sdhc, not a sd card? (should be the former). A reliable brand (SanDisk, Kingston, Transcend, etc) and not a card from ebay.

Faster the speed the better (class 6+). At least a 4gb in size.

Any error message when TT says it can't format?

Do you have the latest application installed (12.055, I think)
