TomTom Go works fine in our house connecting to wifi but stopped working this month in the truck. The drumming sounds and sometimes the map appears briefly but then the screen goes black and the drumming begins again.

4ba63 model should correspond to a go basic

It's weird that GPS works fine in your house not in your truck
Is your battery fully charged?
Try: Press the on/off button until you hear the drumming sound and the device restarts.

Since it apparently runs fine off the power source in the house, I'd guess you have a battery that's a bit flat and a charging issue from the supply in the truck. I'd start looking there.

The same charging cable is used in both locations. I've tried two charging ports and the same results in both ports. The charging ports work fine for my iPhone.

To Willy875-The battery is fully charged from inside the house. Pressing the on/off button gets the drumming sound. Then a blank screen. Then the drumming sound again repeated again and again until turned off. Turning on again starts the drumming then blank screen and repeat.

In your truck, do you plug it into the cigarette lighter socket provided with your GPS or do you plug it into a USB socket in your truck?
If it is a USB socket this socket does not provide enough current to operate your GPS properly.

We've used the USB sockets for several years but I'll give the cigarette lighter socket a try. Thanks for the suggesgtion

Vehicle USB data sockets are typically only capable of delivering 500mA of current. Your device requires more than that to operate with the screen at normal brightness, much less charge the battery at the same time.

Good to know. We'll be trying the cigarette lighter port today. I'll report back after trying.

So that your GPS is properly charged before installing it in your truck.
I advise you to charge it on the smartphone charger in your home for at least 2 hours.
