Tomtom home error

Hi All

I have a Tomtom XL ( I think) and went to log on to install the "quick gps fix" so it finds the satellites.

Today it kept opening windows time after time ( permission to spy on your every route, offer to buy a new one - unlikely as they used to work for years and now don't, and an error window) I could not shut these to proceed with the small update I wanted and could not shut the main page or log out..

Anyone had this?

First - what version of Home are you running?
Next - if you fire up Home from a cold start without your XL connected, describe a bit more carefully what happens. You'll need to fully shut Home down first, and I mean FULLY. That means going down to your system tray in the lower right of your screen, right clicking on the Home icon, and clicking on "Exit". The icon should disappear. We could do even more from Task Manager, but I don't think that will be necessary.
Next - if you survived the above step, plug in your XL and tell us what happens then, before you attempt any updates.

Version 2.25.1.14, released on July 22, 2025, is indeed the latest version.
