Tomtom Home 2.8.2.2264 Runtime error

Hi

I have TomTom XL lIve and using TomTom Home version 2.8.2.2264.
When I attempt to operate my XL I get a TomTom Home Runtime.exe error ????_appcompat.txt, the ???? is there because that part of the file name is always different, but cant seem to locate any of these files.

Can any one please help?

I follwoed the following fix
Using Operate my device [ more.. ]

I rebooted my pc and now I get the following error message

"Home is alredy running, but is not responding, to open a new windows, you must first close the existing Home process or resrat the system"

I have closed all ruuning proceses and rebooted system to no avail?

Do you have Microsoft's dot net framework installed? It's necessary for Home to work.

Get it here:
Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer)

If that is not the issue, then get the freeware version of Revo Uninstaller from here:
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

and completely uninstall Home 2.

Then get a fresh copy from tomtom.com/home
