Rider 550
Hi, I have a collection of .itn routes on my computer. In the past, I've been able to connect my Rider 550 to my computer and xfer the files to the Rider's root directory. Easy peasy. No more, it seems.

I'm prepping a new road trip and have some .itns I created using the same tool as before (myscenicdrives.com). I can transfer them to the Rider but the "import" process fails with an unhelpful "Unable to import route" message. Hmmm.

On my computer, I selected an .itn from a prior trip, one I know worked because I, well, I took the trip. Now, that one fails with the same unhelpful message.

I've looked at the .itns in a text editor and they seem fine: the four fields, \|\ delimited, nothing different, except they will transfer but not import. I attached .itns in case you care to examine them for clues (had to append .txt to get them to upload). "Santa Maria" is a known good .itn, "Escondido" is one for the upcoming trip. Neither will now import.

Any suggestions? Any insights?

Mod edit: Due to forum restrictions these are uploaded as .txt files, after downloading change the extension to .itn

From my original post: I attached .itns in case you care to examine them for clues (had to append .txt to get them to upload).

I think your problem is the last line of your ITN files, the "~" character, if I delete it and save to my Rider 550, it imports without error.

It worked! I am in the presence of a Rider genius!

The \~\ hadn't occurred to me because it never mattered before -- I've imported lots of routes over the years, each with a \~\ and with no ill effect. So, when doing side-by-side comparisons using a known-good .itn that had a \~\, it gave me a blind spot. I can only assume a system update between then and now made things stricter.

Thank you!
