Bridge warnings or weight restrictions not showing

I use TomTom expert app and CarPlay to a screen and have my truck details set correctly, If I approach a bridge or restricted road I don’t get any warning on the screen? Is this normal? I’m using the UK version and always do updates
I got a PCN in Greenwich last month as TomTom let me drive straight into a weight restricted road and have me no warning
Obviously as a driver you are always looking at bridge height and road warnings but got caught out
Thinking of moving to garmin

Might be worth reading this German thread, with translation turned on in your browser. There are others. Each says that CarPlay is adding restrictions to the app when run there. Android Auto also has restrictions. Neither Apple nor Google want competition for their own infrastructure / apps. CarPlay suppresses several kinds of warnings.

The TomTom app itself does always warn of a problem approaching, even with no route planned. In Apple's CarPlay, it seems that it does NOT.

If I use the app on my iPhone it does not give a clear warning of low bridges, width restrictions, weight restrictions or any other HGV related restriction only speed limits, Pretty useless for a UK Hgv driver to be honest

If you're having problems using it on your iPhone WITHOUT CarPlay (you didn't indicate that to be the case in post #1, just that it was an issue when used in conjunction with CarPlay), that's a whole different story, and what you describe should not be happening, and needs to be looked into more carefully.

I used a mates Garmin and you get proper warnings for bridges, restrictions on roads it’s so munch more for a HGV driver where TomTom just seems like a watered down version. I have my width correct at 10.6ft sometimes and would still try and take me down small residential roads
I’ve just re subscribed at £80 and see very little benefits for a Hgv driver in the UK, you can’t change the colours either like you can on android
