Stuck on "Search Recent" option

On my START 50, there's no way I can use a SEARCH to enter a new destination. When I click on SEARCH and enter the first letter of the destination, I get the message There is no recent destination starting with this letter.

I shut down the device several times and restarted. I downloaded the latest updates today. My application version is 18.202.0024.311 (0) (05/12/2018)
I wanted to avoid the reinitialisation.

Any advice is welcome

Try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds.

Thank you for your reply. I already tried the drum reset several times but it doesn't solve the issue.

Thank you for the tip. In the meantime, since I needed the device, I reinstalled the whole shebang from scratch as if the device were newly purchased. Now it works. But we won't know how to fix this without going through the whole installation process.
