One xl connection problems

When I connect to the pc to update my model I continually have the message 'connect device' although it is connected. It is fully charged and I have reset it. Help pls.

Try a different usb port, preferably on the back of the unit. Also, consider a different usb cable.

Sounds silly, but it OFTEN sorts the problem....

I've got a cable in front of me that looks fine, works fine, for some things (and even some TomToms) but refuses to work with one particular Tomtom model.
