Hi,
I have a strange situation where my Go 520 Wifi restarts intermittently through a journey. Driving along and all of a sudden it just restarts. It continues where it left off, albeit a few miles down the road, but none the less resumes the journey.
I initially thought it could be a loose power connection so the charger and cable were replaced but that didn't solve the issue. I thought it could be a loose cradle connection too but I replaced that and no difference there either. I pulled it apart to see if the battery connection was loose but that wasn't the solution.
The unit was fully upto date with the latest firmware and was initially reset back to defaults when all this started. Unfortunately opening the case broke it so now I have some spare parts.
As the original one was broken, I purchased another one and I have the same issue with it restarting. Since it is highly unlikely to be a hardware issue, unless there are multiple batches with faults, it does tend to lead towards a firmware issue and since it is upto date, you might expect more people to have this problem.
Has anyone seen this issue?
It's a shame as I've always had TomTom satnav and with their current changes to their products and with these kinds of issues, I'm thinking about which other manufacturers to look at for when I finally give up with this unit.
