Can not connect unit to computer

Many thanks for reading this, my tomtom go live 820 went blank a while ago, sent it off for repair and they did a good job only problem is that my computer and tomtom keep on telling me that the device is not connected any ideas please

You are using MyTomTom and not Home with that device, correct?

Also, use the cable that came with the device. And a USB port on the back of the computer but avoid USB 3 ports if the computer has them.

Many thanks for your replys sorry about delay, tried the usb port change and tried reset factory settings, using my tomtom and cables that came with unit but still no go, I am still not connecting to computer which is aspire 5542 using 3g dongle huawei have been trying to renew subscriptions
