If the TomTom is on and does not have an address keyed into the unit will it still notify you of upcoming traffic conditions?

How do you mean notify.?
You will still see traffic on the map or in view map, but if there is no route planned the unit can't notify you of traffic ahead as it does not know your intentions. For the same reason it cant offer alternative routing.
