Was looking up some stuff in my still-going-strong Runner when a websearch brought up the following tomtom page:

which described how the wearable sports products were discontinued in 2017 and now they will be sunsetting the Sports app, website, service, and device connection functionality in July 2023.

A bit sad, but when I went back to the page, today, I get a message that its not available in my locale and after redirect get a page does not exist error. As of today the google cache still exists as I had seen it before. Here is the relevant text:

TomTom Sports discontinuation

As you may know, TomTom already announced in 2017 to discontinue its Consumer Sports business to refocus on its leading position in mapping and navigation technologies. Even though we did not develop new sports wearables in the last years, we continued to support our products and customers as we had a strong community that still loved and actively used our sports products.

However, over the past years, we have seen the usage decrease significantly, which has led to the difficult decision to end our support on the TomTom Sports infrastructure by the end of July 2023.

What will happen?
The TomTom Sports mobile app, Sports website, and Sports Connect desktop application will be discontinued and permanently removed.

You may be able to still use your TomTom Sports watch, Golf watch or Activity tracker and see your activity statistics on your device itself, but you will no longer get updates or will not be able to sync your activities to the TomTom Sports platforms and applications.

While the mobile app might still be functioning on your current phone, we cannot guarantee that will be the case in the future due to new software from your smartphone manufacturer.

TomTom would like to thank you for your trust in our products and will continue to offer products that will help you GO faster, smarter and further on the road.

What will happen to my TomTom device?
Your TomTom device will no longer be able to synchronise with the TomTom platforms. You will no longer have access to your online material through the web-app or smartphone app.

As it will no longer have access to the online infrastructure, there will not be any more updates to the device and the activity history will no longer be logged online. Your device will keep its offline functions and thus can still be usable without tracking history. As TomTom will no longer support/improve the software or features of the device itself, you might experience issues with currently working functionalities in the future.

Can I still order an accessory?
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to order any accessories for your TomTom Sports watch, Golf watch, or Activity tracker through TomTom’s sales channels since we have discontinued all TomTom Sports-related products. However, you might still be able to find accessories on other 3rd party websites or marketplace sites.

Can I still sync my TomTom Sports Watch data with other websites like Strava or Nike+ to track my progress?
No, it will not be possible to sync your data with other websites.

Can I still download runs, trails, courses, or music onto my watch through other providers?
No, this will no longer be possible.
What will happen to the data on my TomTom Sports account?

You will have access to your sports data up until the end of the service, after which it will no longer be possible to log onto your TomTom Sports account.

TomTom prioritises data safety and therefore we aim to be transparent on what happens to your data.

Once the services go offline, TomTom will remove both your personal and activity data. Your TomTom account will remain as users may have other TomTom products linked to the same account. If you want TomTom to remove your account, you can file a GDPR request form. For more information, see: Delete My TomTom account.

What will happen to the user data on TomTom's side?
TomTom will remove all data, including personal and activity data. Only the TomTom account will remain because users may have other TomTom products linked to the same account.

Can I still access my data history?
You can access and export your data history as long as the Sports service is live. However, once the service is discontinued, your history will no longer be accessible. Make sure to export and save your data from https://mysports.tomtom.com/app/settings/account-manage/data-protection before.

Path from the Sports landing page:

Click your user name in the top right and click Settings.
Click MANAGE ACCOUNT.
Click Manage my data.

Depending on the number of stored sports activities you're shown one or more download buttons.

Can I upload my data to other websites like Strava or Nike+ to track my progress?
No this will no longer be possible through the TomTom Sports platforms, depending on the third party supplier you might be able to upload some of your previously downloaded data.

I have a different question regarding the end of support of the TomTom Sports online service.
Any other questions not listed in the FAQ will gladly be answered by our Customer Support team at https://help.tomtom.com/hc/.

Has this been announced any were else yet? Might this have just been a website publishing blunder that's been pulled back?

Would not be surprised if they discontinue web support for these products. I've got my golf watch updated, so hope it still covers most of any of the courses I will play for a few years.

Understanding as they got out of the product market years ago and have been supporting the software side gratis ever since. Would be much nicer of they would open the api so people could manually download their own run data. My current watch will run fine without connecting until the memory is full, at which point it won't let you do anything without connecting/downloading. Not even a menu option to clear from the device that I can find. So once the software is gone, there will even be a time limit to using it as a non networked device.

Guess I need to actually look for a new one. I actually liked the look of these become they were not overly obtrusive, didn't look as garish as a garmin, and didn't cost nearly as much as an apple watch.

So it is. And Here’s the US region link:

I was just made aware of this move. I find it unbelievable! At least release a downloadable version of mysports so we can keep uploading to other platforms, like Strava.

Hopefully someone will create an offline version by reverse engineering.

There are a number of utilities made for Linux, as they have always had to DIY a solution to support the TomTom watches since the company didn't provide a non-windows option. These let you download the run files locally so you can then manually upload whereever. Search TomTom runner, ttwatch, etc. over on github. I haven't seen any windows or android builds. TomTom does have an (e-mail address removed) presence, maybe a plea to them will get somewhere?

I'm trying to recall (it's been years ago), but wasn't there some 3rd party site that would accept a download and convert the content of the watch into an Excel *.csv file?

Interesting. I use mapmyrun and during the periodic syncing outages I would just grab the gpx or whatever file from the TomTom site and manually upload over there. Would be perfectly content doing that again, so I'll probably give the Linux approach a try. Unfortunately I only have Linux installed through a virtual machine, and I'm not sure how well that'll work with the ttwatch over USB or with the Bluetooth version someone else made with it, so we'll see. Something that was already set up to grab data off the device in Windows would be a nice treat. Bonus would be finding out someone had already package the Linux app for Android

They are also shutting down the website, so that won't work unfortunately. I'll try to contact the open source team.

The Linux apps should still work since they're just pulling data direct form the device. They do optionally perform the GPSquickfix function, which involves reaching out to the TomTom webserver. Since other devices use that I assume it'll still function.

Yes ! I have it working. You need to select TTBIN file(s) and then you see this:

Then I can save them as gpx files and upload to Strava.

Thanks for taking the time to find this, @WalkerOfTheDay
I doubt I'd ever have been able to recollect it! Yes, it's *.gpx format, not *.csv as I had mistakenly remembered, which is fine, as it saves the hassle of using GPSBabel or similar to convert the results to a mapping format.

Hello
I try to use studio bleu planet but my usb driver does not work. The installation with zadig does not work
would you have a solution?
thks

I had a similar issue (Windows 11), it gave an error like installation failed or something like that, even though when I tried it again it seemed to have overwritten the old driver.

I then uninstalled the driver in device management. Don't forget to also put a checkbox to delete the driver.

Then I rebooted and it magically started working.
