    That model has been decreed as End of Life by Tomtom. See here for versions starting with serial numbers shown:

    "L2">ONE XL, 512MB + SD 2GB, TomTom HOME NAV2 EoL
    "L3">ONE XL + SD 2GB, TomTom HOME NAV2 EoL
    "L4">ONE XL, 1GB + SD 2GB, TomTom HOME NAV2 EoL
    "L7">ONE XL, 1GB + SD 2GB, TomTom HOME NAV2 EoL
    "L8">ONE XL, 512MB + SD 2GB, TomTom HOME NAV2 EoL
    "L9">ONE XL, 1GB + SD 2GB, TomTom HOME NAV2 EoL

    meaning no more map updates.

    If you do consider a new one, call Support, tell them your current device is in the End-of-Life list and ask themwhat discount might be offered if you were to buy a new device.
