I've used a Garmin GPS for many years, but recently bought a Subaru Forester that has the Starlink accessories with TomTom navigation. Obviously, I need to adapt to the new system, but there are a couple of things that I have noticed so far:
1. When editing the list of 'favorites', the process of deleting a favorite displays three options, one of which is to delete all favorites. This is dangerous - its entirely too easy to inadvertently hit the wrong button and delete the entire list of favorites. DAMHIKT I agree that having a 'delete all' might be desirable, but it should not be an option when editing individual favorite entries, and ideally it should be accompanied by one of those dreaded 'do you really want to do this' check features.
2. One of the features that was included in the most recent Garmin device I bought was the option to create and save multi-stop itineraries. There is even a crude way to do that in Google Maps that I can transfer to my car using Apple CarPlay. I know I can create a multi-stop route in TomTom, but I haven't found a way to save that route for reuse. Wife and I travel to a resort area twice a year, and it would really be convenient to be able to save the to and from routes for that trip, avoiding the need to recreate the routing each time we schedule the trip.
There are a couple of other things that I would add to a 'wish list' for TomTom although they aren't nearly as important as the items mentioned above.
1. The ability to link to and integrate with the off-line TomTom trip planning app. I tend to plan road trips in advance, and it would be really convenient to be able to do that off-line and then transfer the routing to the car (via WiFi) prior to departure.
2. The ability to change voices. I don't dislike the default voice, but I would like to have the option to choose.
3. I find the default map color scheme (blue for roads against a beige background) to be less than ideally legible. The ability to choose a different theme would be welcome.
