Ipod touch v1.5 upgrade problem - help

I have 3.6gb of space on my ipod touch, but the upgrade tells me I do NOT have enough space to upgrade. How can that be and
why would the upgrade need so much space?

If the app file size is 2GB it will actually need double that to install it, once its installed it will only consume 2GB of space but during the installation it needs more space. Just free up some space by removing some music files then put them back on post installation - Mike
