ipod not connecting again

I have a recently purchased Go720 running 8.350 with latest maps

I bought the tomtom ipod connect cable today, plugged in and it worked perfectly first time with brilliant integration

Disconnected and now the tomtom will not connect to the ipod again through the menu option. Just asks me to connect an ipod even though it is connected. I may unplugged the ipod from the cable without a controlled disconnect - not sure. Also I was making hands-free calls from phone via bluetooth

Any ideas?

Have you tried a pin reset on the TomTom?

Not yet - will I have to completely reload the tomtom if I do so?

Nope, at worst a pin reset will just cause the time of day to reset. No other settings get lost.
