iPod charge?

TomTom iPod with Charging!

If you're feeling brave you can jury-rig the iPOD cable from the TomTom to include power.

The pin-outs for iPods are available at the link below. You can connect ground (-ve or car body) to pins 1/2 and the battery supply to pins 19/20 and that should do the job!

You'll need to do so very carefully so as not to introduce noise to the signal cables. (I suspect this might be why the TomTom supplied cable doesn't carry power).

If you're a bit ham-fisted like me you'll want to get someone with a steady soldering-hand to give it a go. I'd also recommend you build this into a spare iPod cable or connector rather than go cutting into any expensive leads that you've already got running behind the dashboard!

Good luck (and don't blame me if it all goes wrong!)
