Installing new europe map 700go

Hi All.
I?m new to this site so if this has been asked about before???.sorry.
I have just purchased a map update from Tomtom but Tomtom Home is telling me there is not enough room and that I need to free up 900plus MB but I can only do that by removing the old map but when I mark it for deletion a warning flashes that if I remove this map my appliance will not work correctly.
Am I right in thinking I have to go into the map folder and delete from there as I can see two large files labeled Cline.dat Cnode.dat but a little nervous as I?m not sure what I?m doing.
Can anyone help?

Hi Gary, as you have a backup I would simply delecte the existing map folder from the device using Windows Explorer then use the Home software to install your new map - Mike

It's a shame Tomtom doesn't put a little instruction note on the map updates.......but then I supose the 700 is a little old now.
