If your GO is from the prior generation (e.g., anything without 4 digits and not a GO 8XX), by the dates on the files.

If you're getting them from TomTom, look in the folder that has your maps (I forgot to check where you're from, so you'll need to sort out how your folder and file is named) and look for Safety_Cam_[your country or area]_TomTom.ov2 What's the date on that?
