Browse map in permanent night setting

My browse map feature gives a permanent night setting display (astra) I think.

I have gone to settings and set both Day & Night maps to America (and other daytime colours). I have toggled the Auto switch Off and On. All without effect.

I have deleted the app and reloaded it. The first time I browsed after doing this, I got daytime colours, but it reverted to night the very next time I used it.

The driving display correctly shows Day colours.

Any suggestions?

I'm running iOS 4.0.1 and TT 1.4.1 on a 3GS.

Might be traffic

While in the map, try hitting the "traffic" icon on the bottom. TomTom shows all the traffic maps with a black background for some reason.
