What is the difference? Is traffic still incosistent on gps units? Sitting in traffic before it gives you a warning?

Biggest difference between the two is the 340 has a full menu structure while the 350 has a 'EasyMenu' with greatly reduced user flexibility.

Traffic quality depends on your area. Both the 340 (non-LIVE) and the 350 have the same traffic provider. In Boston they are very good on interstates with little coverage anywhere else. On my 1-week trip to LA I found the traffic quality was very poor.

The LIVE traffic is much much better. In my experience it catches 75%+ traffic on highways and 50% of traffic on sidestreets.
