Cost of map updates

Hello all,

I've just joined the forums as I'm about to buy a SatNav.
I'm considering the GO Superior, but am struggling to understand what the ongoing costs will be. Hopefully someone can help me.

The cost of keeping the maps updated

The UK TomTom web site for the Go Superior doesn't have any details of costs, but a store (Halfords) in the UK claims that there are lifetime map updates, as does another store (Argos), and a review site (https://newreviews.co.uk/reviews/tomtom-go-superior-6-inch-car-sat-nav/).

Interestingly, the UK TomTom web site for the cheaper GO Navigator states:
TomTom Europe map updates at no extra cost
as well as:
...Europe maps (updates included)...

The web site for the even cheaper GO Classic states:
TomTom Europe Map Updates
Drive with the latest maps, at no extra cost.

You believe what you've read. The Superior comes with a lifetime subscription to the worldwide map set, from which you can add/delete whatever countries/states/whatever you like. These can be obtained over the device's WiFi connection.

For additional information.

Map updates are free, however Go Superior only has 2 years of Tomtom service (Radars, fuel prices, availability of parking spaces and charging stations) free after which you have to purchase the subscription.

GO Classic only has 1 month of free speed camera updates after which you have to renew the subscription.

I'm happy to say that I've ordered the GO Superior, and am looking forward to receiving it.
