TomTom Model(s)
550 rider
I have the Tom Tom set up with Schuberth helmet built in SC2 headset (by Sena). And my iPhone XR.

It works fine when solo riding but when I am on BT intercom with another rider or pillion, the Tom Tom doesn’t cut in with instructions over the headset, it announces them on the unit’s loudspeaker instead ??

Anyone had this problems/have a workaround ?

Hi there @RT-Rider -
On my Sena 5s, I paired my Rider on a priority channel which cuts in over the music or intercom, but is not mesh.
I’ve had a brief look at the quick start guide for the SC2, but it wasn’t specific enough to get an idea for your device.
Have you seen the video Schuberth SC2 Tutorial (English) here: https://oem.sena.com/schuberth/
It appears to offer some advice on connecting the Rider, full SC2 manual here: https://oem.sena.com/schuberth/documents/UsersGuide_SC2_1.3.0_en_231218.pdf
(Specifically section 4.4)
Also in the Rider settings, ensure A2DP is also selected.

Thanks for the advice Kieron, yes, I have already browsed the tutorial and have the full manual. Also selected the A2DP when I set up. I just can’t get the unit to voiceover the intercom channel. As soon as I go to intercom it reverts to announcing from the units internal loud speaker, very frustrating. I did wonder whether using mesh would solve the issue but that does mean investing in a new unit for my partner and it may not solve the problem and just be more money thrown at it…..

I’ve paired as GPS. Cheers
One other point I would like to say is the order of connection I do, as in the past, doing it differently for me was erratic.
Turn on my iPhone Personal Hotspot, activate the Allow Others to Join slider, Bluetooth and USB Only, also ensuring that WiFi was not on.
Secondly, I power up the Rider for the first link and once traffic is established, finally power on my Sena communication. This has been very stable for the last three and a half years now.

Thanks Kieron, that makes sense. I’ll try that method. Cheers.

I’ve finally got this working as an intercom with satnav providing voice over instructions then reverting back to intercom. However, it only works this way when I do not connect my iPhone to the Tom Tom. So, no live updates on traffic but at least I can keep comms. If I have both phone and headset connected to the Tom Tom, they drift in and out of connectivity so there must be a conflict there as individually they are a stable connection.
