updating maps on tomtom xl

I have a tomtom xl bought xmas 08 with the uk + roi maps on it. The device has a 1 gig internal memory and no memory slot, the properties of the memory are 185megs used and 793 megs unused. Does this mean that I could install the US southeast region @161.4 megs(going on a flydrive) and still have room for other maps? and retain the uk maps

Sure seems as if the regional US map will fit with no problems.

That will fit but be carefull that you will not be able to install anymore voices, POI or other.
Also, the size of the maps are usually a little more than what they are.
You might want to check with someone with the same map to make sure the size is right
