Update Crashed

We were downloading a update for our TomTom XXL and everything went fine. We disconnected but then when we tried to turn the Satnav on, we can't switch it off. It is going in a continuous loop of going on to the TomTom symbol, then a screen with a green line going across then blank then back to TomTom. Anyone know what has happend?

Did you disconnect properly (using the Device Disconnect icon)?

Anyway, try this ............
1. connect to Home.
2. run the emulator (operate my Unit)
3. Create a favourite.
4. Disconnect properly using the Device Disonnect icon.

If the above doesn't work, try resetting the unit by holding the power button about 15 seconds till you hear the drum sounds.

If that doesn't work, connect to the computer and use Explorer to delete the mapsettings.cfg file in the specific map folder.

Use the Hardware Disconnect icon to detach from the computer.

We now have a drum roll and green screen. Also, a black page comes on with lots of white writing on it

Is the power button stuck, by any chance???

Nope its not. We are doing what you first said now.

When you go on Operate my navigation device, it keeps crashing and then you have to close it down then start again. But it keeps doing it.

Try the deletion of the mapsettings.cfg file.

If all that doesn't work...........

Connect to the computer and make an Explorer, not Home, backup.

Then format the unit. don't use quickformat.

Restore the backup.
