Unable To Update Device

About a week ago I started getting an error when trying to update my device (XXL550) thru TomTom Home:

I've been updating the device 1-2 times a week for a decade without issue.
My guess would be a server configuration issue.

Is anybody else seeing this?
 
How old is your PC? Which operating system?
PC is a few years old, running Windows 10.
But I've been updating thru TomTom Home via Windows 7, 8.1, and now 10 without issue for ten years.
I don't think it's me.

EDIT:
I went back to a former PC I used w. my TomTom & ran the Home program.
When I tried to login to the Home app, I get the exact same error as given above.

I now notice that I am logged out of the Home app on my current PC and I get the same error when trying to login.

I only asked since there have been many changes to available/allowed encryption over the years. I don't know if Home depends upon Windows for encryption services or not. Just making sure that this wasn't one of those issues.

Having no issues making the connection from my place. HOME identifies itself here as PC version 2.21.21.3131738.
 
I seem to have read that the XXL 550, 2 GB, Tomtom HOME NAV2 had been declared end of life by Tomtom?
So it is no longer possible to make updates.


QuickFix updates should still be being offered, just not map or firmware updates. The problem the OP reports isn't related to EOL issues, it some kind of issue between his system and the TT server.

What version of Home are you running? It's also possible that an older version of Home, if it handles its own encryption, is no longer compatible with the encryption algorithm being used on TT's server. I find that Home still gets updated fairly frequently.

Yeah, looks like there's an new version of Home. I installed that & updates are finally working. Thanks
Good to hear. I'm surprised Home hadn't bugged you to update it. Any new versions here, and it often won't even let me continue until the update is completed!
