TomTom 730 completely lost

I was travelling on main routes (all major highways) going from Lindsay ON to Courtice ON (east of Oshawa). For the first time my TomTom 730 had no clue where I was. The car symbol could not find the highway and the voice, after constantly recalculating, kept directing me to turn down roads that would have landed me well away from my destination. Re-setting the TomTom had no effect. I have kept the TomMTom up-to-date with maps. I have version 9.430 which did lose the direction feature. Is it time to buy a new GPS? Any help will be most appreciated.

There was a faulty gpsfix file released on June 30th.

Many thanks. Will installing the latest GPS fix correct it or do I have to remove the faulty one and start again? I was tempted to buy a GPS for the TomTom.

Follow the steps in the link for removing the relevant (faulty) files from both the unit and the computer.

Thanks for the solution. I was having the same problem since Sunday and will try the fix.
