TomTom 720 on water

Has anyone tried using a 720 on water? I am going to be vacationing on a large lake and was wondering if it was possible to use my TT720 to find my way back to the dock after a day of fishing. There are also few bars and restaurants I would like to navigate to.

TomTom units are geared to being on-road only for mapping.

So, even if you have the location of the dock set using the lat/long, if you're in the middle of the lake and Navigate to-->(location of dock), it won't find a route.

The add-on programs 'Off-Road Navigator' or 'Tripmaster' might be able to help.
