text messages

Hi all,

I'm a newbie to GPS, and have been really impressed with the GO 730 we have bought.

Great to have the handsfree too. One of the features that works with my wifes phone is text messages are read aloud when they arrive (sony ericcson), but not with my phone, HTC windows mobile. I believe it's something not supported by smartphones, or windows phones.

Is there anyway to enable it? any add on software for smartphones that anyone has come across?

any help would be awesome

The TomTom cannot read out SMS text messages from a HTC Smart Phone, in fact the list of phones that can do this is rather small - Mike

thanks Mike,

just curious, is that a WM thing or Tomtom thing....or both? Real pain as I need the PDA for work - but receive a lot or work related txts while driving....maybe I need to swap to a simpler phone when in the car haha....
