This started haping a few months ago....

It will work for a few minutes, then either freeze up, and reboot....or just reboot on its own every few minutes. It also takes about 5 minutes to get a GPS signal again, but typically it will lock up again at this point.

I almost threw it out of the window, but decided to check here first....

I believe I had it updated a month or so ago with the TomTom application, but I can get specific details if needed.

I have the same problem with my tomtom one 3rd edition, I made a reset, atualization and still the same...any idea to solve this?

I have tried the pin reset but still the same...i think some file is corrupt or missed, can anyone send me the list of the archives (outside the folders) of the TT one 3rd ??

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the application.

Exactly what he said.

I have had this problem about 3 times in the past. I simply backed everything up to my computer using explorer, then erased EVERYTHING and also formatted my TomTom's internal memory and memory card. I then used TomTom home to reinstall the application, map, voices, etc. Good as new.

Don't copy the backup back on to the device, or you will be copying back the same corrupt files. The back up is just in case you have any trouble during reinstallation. Just let TomTom Home take care of reinstalling everything. Remember that it will install the application about 2 or 3 times before being up to date since it has to "step up" to different versions of the application.

Once that's done, precede to install your map, then voices, etc.

Thanks!

Thanks for this solution. I was having a serious problem with my Tom Tom freezing and rebooting at seemingly random times during normal use. I tried everything including reinstalling the application and a complete reformat, but the mistake I made was copying some of the backed up files back on to my TomTom after reformat. I believe now that my voice file was corrupted.

I was able to reinstall everything directly from TomTom except for my map, since my free map updates had expired. I copied that from the backup on my hard drive and luckily it worked.

You got lucky there, because one of the times I had this trouble, my map was corrupted. I had formatted and reloaded the map from backup, and the problem was back. Fresh map fixed the problem. The old map was corrupted to the point where the roads looked insane. It was pretty freaky. Here's a pic of how it looked.
