I have searched around my XLS and can not find the file. It may be "built-in" to the op system. My favorite part of this Legal Notice is "Do not operate your product while driving"; hello?, what's the point of having it if you don't use it while driving?

Legal notice probably written by the same guy who, w-a-y back when (before wireless keyboards) wrote the following into the computer (PC) operating system when you turned on the computer without the keyboard connected, "Keyboard not connected. Press F1 to continue"

I guess this is a NA thing. We don't have these warnings in Europe. Of course, we also don't have similar 'don't drive with your eyes closed', 'don't stick this knife into yourself' or 'don't open this sparkling drink without suitable eye protection' type warnings on all products either. I guess this is because it is not always possible to sue anyone for anything outside of North America!

That's why they stopped selling four foot ladders in the good ol' U.S.A. - the four foot ladders did not have enough space to apply all of the warning labels required by the Consumer Product Safety Commission!

That warning on the TomTom really gets annoying after a couple of dozen exposures!!! Somehow the logic behind not using the TomTom while driving evades me. If I'm sitting on the roadside and manage to hear an instruction such as "Take the next exit" I will never get to the next exit without driving.

it's kinda like this supposedly true exchange in a U.S courtroom between an attorney and the Medical Examiner - here referred to as "Witness":

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?

WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.

ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?

WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

Or, perhaps working for TomTom, HMmmmmmm????

LOL!!!!!!!

Mine seems to be sporadic and picks different times to show that screen. I also noticed that the "I agree" button is on the right hand side on mine but maybe it's because I'm cixelsyd :D

Mine's on the right too, and it looks different than this one here.

The preference setting for being left or right handed determines on which side of the screen certain buttons (including this one) appears. Mine is on the left since I'm a southpaw!

Run the clear flash tool to keep this from appearing every time. Go to www.tomtom.com/6221 for instructions. This should clear this up, and should have appeared just once when you initialized the device when new. Hope this helps.:D

Aha! That makes sense! I hadn't thought of that! :D

In usa they require everywhere to be written to prevent lawsue. Even if many don'y know how to read in that country. Ex: a woman got 1m $ from Mc Donald cause on coffee it was not written: bewhere it's Hot. The problem is not the people but the judges that allow that to happen, so everyone what to have the jackpot anyway they can. Instead for saying: madame you should have know at your age that coffee is hot, they give them 1m$.

Wait a minute, if you're driving, the hand you use depends on the relationship of the GPS to the steering wheel - not if you're right or left handed:D :D

I didn't design the software, I just use it ;)

Don't forget, though, one often uses the unit while not actually driving.
