I have had this problem on my phone Xperia AII, with Android 12 a long time.
Using Tomtom Go app version 3.6.212 3.6.212-beta (4765).
I have checked all normal settings in the app without success.
There is no voice assistance in the app.
Until I tested a new idea I had.
In the phones setting in Bluetooth settings, there is a list of all my connected units.
When I look in the setting for "My Volvo Car, there is three different outsignals.
There is "Phone calls", "Media sound" and "Contact shearing".
The "Media sound" should be excluded.
Now I can hear voice assistance, using the handsfree for the phone but no streaming media sound.
That is a minor problem. I have the carstereo.
This is a problem because there is no setting in the app for disconnect the Bluetooth in Tomtom Go.
The most remarkable is that the other app, Tomtom Amigo, works well and it is free.
I can not guarantee that you can fix this in your own phone, but I have done more to help you than
Tomtom support have done for me in more than a year.
