My friends TomTom was accidently used as a usb device and filled up with foreign files I think some critical files have been corrupted. I can use the deveice but displaying the output on a PC using the tomtom software.
How can I get the display working again.
Do not mind wiping it and reinstalling

The uboot logo appears but then it is goes blank

Make a manual backup of the specific map folder (like UK_and_ROI) on the device to the computer somewhere. Remember where you put it.

Format the unit. Use FAT32. Don't use quickformat.

Connect to Home. You should be offered an application. Accept and install.

Shut down the device. Restart and connect again to ensure no further application updates are offered. Then copy back the map folder and restart the device. See if that helps.

A question, though. Is there a current backup of the complete contents of the unit?
