Map update for new TomTom

Hello, We just got our XL 330S.(First time GPS owners)...Thing is,upon trying to update the map,after a more than one hour download, it told me it couldn't install it until I removed 3.2 MB from memory.It went on to update some smaller things;computer voice,etc....Afterwords, I found the 'remove items' and deleted about 4.3 MB.Went to update the map again(@50 mins more) and this time was told no install until I remove 10.2 MB....Is this doable?...The only thing I find in the 'remove items' of that size is POI package it says belongs to a Go unit._Will we lose these POIs or are they redundant to the 330's POIs? Thank you.

Use Windows Explorer (ensure hidden files/folders are showing) and go into the licence folder and remove any files not including 'US' in the file name. See if there is anything in a 'raster' folder. If so, delete it. How about the sample .mp3 files (if your model has that capability)

In Home, besides computer voices, any recorded voices you can remove? Any samples in the Images folder you don't need.

The only things I've removed are unneeded voices.That was the 4.2 MB. The only licence folder I found was in the TomTom program folder on the pc and it was only about 448 kb....Thank you, for your help, but I think I'll just stick to the Map Share for updates and let the big one be.

same thing happened to me so i just forgot about the up dates for now. i have a free one because i just bought mine. i was afraid sometime would not work after that message but it seems fine.
