I live in Australia and so have the Aus maps installed. I am visiting New Zealand and will be driving there, so I purchased the NZ maps and they are on the device.

My question is: Does the GPS automatically recognise its location when it's switched on, and will it automatically select the NZ maps when it's over there?

Cheers

Although it will fairly quickly figure out where it is, it doesn't switch automatically -- probably so you can look at maps other than where you are.

If you do nothing and just turn it on in another map location, it will ask you if you want to make the switch when it discovers you are 'out of range' of the previous map.

You can also look at the map before you get there by changing the map selection under Manage maps.
