Ok when i bought my 720 there was a paper coming with it saying "Receive FREE services Latest map guarantee + TomTom map share.. with a promotion code to activate it

behind its say: "... connect it to your computer with an internet connection to receive map improvements from other tomtom map share users 'for the duration of 1 years'

so thinking that maybe i need to activate it to be sure to have it for i least a year (i was sure its was free to start with) i enter my promotion code but its saying that its either invalid or expired

SO i called them about it, the guy had no clue which code i was talking about and i asked him if its true that its valide for only a year... once again he had no clue.. he dunno if they will or not be a subscribtion to mapshare next year and how much it gonna cost... so basicaly they are not sure if they gonna charge for it as a subscription yet... i told him its advertise as free and it should stay that way....

The latest map guarantee is nothing new I think. I mean you could've just logged onto TomTom.com and into your account and check it that way. It's just easier with HOME.

Also, yeah it's kinda weird to get charged for someone else's correction. I mean, in that case, why don't we just post our corrections here and let the members change it themselves?

The only thing I can think of is that they're charging for the manpower used to verify the corrections.

I see that they cut the price of maps in half and the TomTom web site says that you get mapshare for 1 year. Then what? I can't find anything about the cost of renewal of mapshare. Not a lot of information to be found.

Arnt people relizing yet the tomtom company is a joke you call support and they say i dunno well you can all call me and i can say that
Tomtom needs to get there head out of there ass!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why my device is now a beer coster cause their product, wait no there company sucks
