How can i put TT One V2 maps on V4?

Hi Guys and Girls,
This question may have be asked a million times but please excuse me as i'm new to the forum.

My friend has just bought a Tomtom one V4 and he's going to Europe this summer and wanted to borrow my Tomtom one XL V2 maps on SD card. When we put my V2 maps in his V4 it says "Problem with map on this device. Western_Europe_1GB." When i press "continue" it shows me the map but if i choose it i get the same "problem with map" page. Any help would be appreciated but try and keep it simple as i'm a tomtom noob

Well, in Europe, TomTom does sell maps on a sd card that are locked to the card, not the device (such as downloaded maps are).

These legitimate cards are supposed to work in any unit with a sd slot. It can't be a backed up card.
