Help - TomTom One XL

Can anyone please save me from madness, and possibly a spent fortune too?

I have a Tom Tom one XL which is playing up. Having not been used for a while the battery ran down. When charged up i turned it on and it has returned to the default settings.

However, when i input the data required (left right hand/ clock settings etc) it freezes when it gets to the option of choosing a voice it freezes. It won't let me chose between options or select. It just freezes.

I did register for TT at home and tried to download the update package. To no avail.

I have tried to reset by holding down on/off switch for 10 secs but still no joy.

Can anyone assist? Help greatly appreciated.

Try running (3 times) the Clear Flash tool found here:

If you have a "ONE XL" you don't reset it by holding down the power switch!
It has a dedicated reset switch on the base, accessed through a hole with a straightened paper clip or similar.
See HEREfor more details.

If that reset doesn't work, you'll need to reinstall the software.

Backup the device as described HERE.
Then, using Windows Explorer to browse the ONE XL's storage, delete all the files which are NOT in a folder, then run TomTom Home and it should offer to reinstall the software.
