Help needed - 'device not registered to this account'

I bought a tomtom start 25 at a car boot sale this weekend and registered with the web site. Done all the downloads to update all maps but then a notice box popped up saying the device isn't registered to this account please try another. No matter how many times I register with other email accounts it won't work.
How can I get round this please
