]I did a map update last week now my xxl 55
0 is freezing up when I try to plan a route it sucks being without it and I can't afford to buy another GPS.

We've seen this a lot, when you are using destinations referenced from the previous map (such as cities you've searched for, or re-using recent destinations or Favourites).

Try connecting to TomTom Home and using the on-screen Emulator to create a new route and to add a new favourite. You should be able to do that.

Now see if that has cured the problem in normal use too.

If not, try taking the file "MapSettings.cfg" off the unit (it will be in the map folder - that's the folder with the name of your country or region, not one called "maps").
You'll lose all your Favourites etc.

thanks Andy it seems to be working creating a new route on my computer.
