FM Mount issues

I just got the FM mount for my 910 and was very excited to use it. First it was hard to find a station that didn't have some type of music/talk etc transmitted on it but I did find a couple that didn't have much of anything. Anyways, I would have a good "connection" and then out of the blue it would get alot of static. This happened constantly. Is there a distance requirement from the car radio? Or is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

It depends on how clear the channel is in your area.
With my past experience with FM transmitters, I had to constantly change the channel for better frequency.
