bad route

I planned a trip from Maine to up-state NY and about one mile away from lake Champlain I Realized that it was taking me to a ferry landing of a ferry that does not run in the winter time?I find it strange that it asks all the time if toll roads are ok but it would assume that ferry?s are ok??? I guess that I learned the hard way to check the route carefully before leaving...

Yes, I always check the routes any of my units suggest because my idea of what's acceptable and theirs sometimes don't coincide.
