GO Discover
Hello,

Hope you will understand my english !!! Note the french Tomtom forum is now close in France.

I need the community to help me to find the right Tomtom GPS.

I bought a "GO Discover" last week, but not convenient for me so I returned it to Tomtom.

My needs are :
- 5" or 6"
- Ability to turn the screen upside down (180°) (for on my vehicule I am oblige to place it via gooseneck fixing)
- Ability to enter coordinates directly in "My Places" (directly from the device not via My Drive Connect)

Thanks for your help

Hi

On GO Discover, it was possible to flip the screen to use it on the dashboard.

On GO Discover, it was possible to enter the coordinates directly on the GPS.

Now all Tomtom GPS have this possibility to enter an address via the coordinates and to use the GPS either on the windshield or on the dashboard.

<<On GO Discover, it was possible to flip the screen to use it on the dashboard.>>

I didn't found the solution even via Tomtom support, they says it is not possible to turn the image of 180° (the word Tomtom must always be at the bottom of the screen)

If you can explain me how to do that, I am keen to know, and I have exactly the same trouble with my "Start 52", but My Via 135 is turning automaticlly the screen in the right position, (like with a smartphone)

I found how enter coordinates as "Routes", but to do that in order to place coordinates in My Places, I can't.

It works very well via "Mydrive Tomtom.com" but that is not easy to use for me for during my trips, I not always have computer with me and it is too long to apply.

Thanks for your help

It is the arm of the support that you must turn upwards.

you have to press on the marked place then click on the 4 points an option opens click on added to my places.

We have just recently had threads on this topic. Please see here

Once you have the location shown on the map, hit the little 4 dots in the circle. One of the options that will appear is "Add to MyPlaces".

Hi Willy,

I can't use this arm in my vehicle because the windscreen is too far from the driver's seat, that's why I need to rotate the screen itself, not the arm, it was ok with my "Via 135" because the display would flip automatically, but not possible with the new Tomtom GO.

The arm I'm forced to use is a gooseneck.

Ok, my problem was definitely rounding as well.

Anyway, since it was impossible to return the screen image, I returned it to the store today

Thanks to everyone to have help me

Maybe the pad mount bracket can help https://www.tomtom.com/fr_fr/navigation/accessories/mounts-docks/beanbag-mount/

where the Fixing Discs https://www.tomtom.com/fr_fr/navigation/accessories/mounts-docks/dashboard-mount-disks/

Do you know if the "pad mount bracket" and/or the disc are able to stay stable on a slightly rough surface and which diameter they have???

Je vois que vous avez un drapeau Français, alors ci-dessous en Français.

Savez-vous si le "pad mount bracket" et/ou le disque sont capables de rester stables sur une surface légèrement rugueuse et quel diamètre ils ont ???
