I'm living in Ireland. Have Tomtom One, a few years old now with a small memory. Going to USA on holidays. Buying sat nav instead of renting one with car. Might do Spain next year. Any advice?

You might consider this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-Trav...7837874&sr=8-2&keywords=tomtom+world+traveler. You will get both European and North American maps and also Lifetime updates of the European ones. But check with the seller, Happy Sales, to have them confirm in writing that this model does have the Lifetime subscription on the European ones. It is pricey but it sorts you out for your USA holidays and then should last for many years of driving in Ireland and the rest of Europe with continually refreshed maps.

As a TM model, it will definitely have the lifetime European update available.

Ah, well noted. I don't know how much issue TT has with gray market sales on the 'trans-Atlantic' models. Normally, it's not an issue, but could be with those and has been since the early GO 9XX days. Probably not a bad idea to check.
