Indeed, GO Expert is GO Camper max starts with the same serial number.
Tomtom will correct the error.

The MyDrive Connect app for your computer does, as Willy explains, deal with serial numbers. Actually, it deals with just the first two characters of your serial number to identify the type of device you have. However, those two characters only generally identify a particular TomTom device. For example, the 5" Discover, Expert and Camper devices all start with ZU or YA, the 6" all start with ZV or YB, and the 7" all start with ZW or YC. There an internal hardware difference between each of these pairs, which is why it could be either of the two I've mentioned for a given screen size.

In the case of your 7", your serial number will start with either ZW or YC, but that doesn't specifically identify your device as an Expert.

When MyDrive Connect sees a device, it goes back to the TomTom server to associate a two letter serial prefix with a specific name to display on your PC's screen, but it really doesn't know which of the possible models associated with those two characters it's dealing with on your end. Sometimes it gets them right, but it seems that it's the luck of the draw.

It won't matter which of the three possible names it chooses to display. The primary difference between the three models is the map data, and with the negotiation between your device and the TomTom server, you'll always get updates already associated with the maps already resident on the device you own. For example, if you have just the Discover, you'll only get the car map updates. If you have the Expert, your updates will be in the form of the truck maps. If you have the Camper Max, you'll get map updates specific to that model.

correct my serial number begins with ZW, the dice identifies as go expert as it should, just the account page identifies as something it is not :(

The serial number on my device matches the serial number on my account page, the only difference been on my device after the serial number i have (0)
apart from that they match, i even deleted it today and reset the device and still it shows as a 7" go camper max.

have emailed them but i don't have much faith in their system of replying to me
