Waypoint on the fly

once i've chosen a poi to navigate to what's the best way to add a "waypoint" in between? example.. riding from home to a ball field i wanted to stop by a starbucks but couldn't figure out to nav there and not have to re-navigate the original dest. i didn't know i was going to starbucks before i left.
