Volume control - too loud

Hi I have connected my i phone to my Fodsport FX7 intercom and the volume is fine and I can control it on the Intercom volume control. I have also connected my Tom Tom Rider 550 to my phone and my intercom per the instructions. However, once the Tom Tom is paired you cannot control the volume and it comes out at full volume which is far too loud and you cannot turn it down. How do I resolve this issue?

Exactly. Without separate volume settings, it must be done 'contextually'.

You can't. If you use the intercom volume controls nothing happens. Plus when the intercom is connected to the Tom Tom, the volume slider on the Tom Tom disappears.
